Compiled by Watch Commanders in the field, the Watch Log is a summary of events that stand out to them in a given 24-hour period. Simpson Ave Highland Dr.
Victim was at the gas pumps at 876 E. 800 S. and was approached by the suspect, who lifted his shirt, causing the victim to believe he had a weapon concealed. The victim walked away as instructed and the suspect took his vehicle. A short time later, Officers observed the vehicle on Highland Drive. Before he could initiate a stop, the driver drove into the parking lot at Simpson and Highland and stopped the vehicle, then put his hand out the window. The driver Brian Oblad, 41, was safely taken into custody, positively identified by the victim in this case and a criminal mischief from earlier in the day. Oblad was booked into jail for F1 Robbery, criminal mischief.
625 S. Redwood Rd.
Bike Officers and Robbery Detectives coordinated locating a subject wanted for an aggravated robbery/kidnapping. The suspect, Chanice Matlock, 27, had several felony warrants for her arrest. Officers located Matlock at the above address. When Matlock saw the officers, she attempted to elude them with a quickened pace in the opposite direction. Officers nimble footwork prevented her from escaping their clutches. Matlock was taken into custody. Detectives responded and interviewed Matlock. Matlock was booked into jail.

Witnesses reported several shots fired. When Officers arrived, they found empty shell casings at the listed address. No victims or damaged property located and no there was no suspect information.
775 W. N. Temple St.
Victim was walking north on 800 W. when the suspect asked him for a smoke. When the victim was getting a cigarette out, the suspect punched him in the face and took his backpack. Officers spotted the suspect about a block away and took him into custody. Mafitangata Pulu, 25, was booked into jail for drug paraphernalia, and robbery.
