Occupied Stolen Vehicle
1480 W. Gillespie Ave.
Officers located a stolen vehicle with a female in the driver’s seat. She attempted to leave on foot but was quickly detained. Cesia Ortiz, 27, was arrested and booked into jail for felony theft, failure to comply with a police officer, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of another person’s identifying documents, and outstanding warrants.
Firearm Possession by Restricted Person
1245 S. 900 W.
An officer observed a vehicle with a stolen license plate parked at this location. As officers were investigating a handgun was located in the vehicle. Kirt Titensor, 60, was on parole and was booked into jail for possession of a firearm by a restricted person.
239 E. South Temple St
The victim and the suspect were drinking when an argument ensued. The argument escalated and the suspect stabbed the victim. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he died from his injuries. Fernanda Tobar, 22, was booked into jail for homicide.
2332 E. 2100 S.
A male entered the Walgreens, approached the cashier and demanded money while indicating he had a weapon. The suspect was described as White, 6’2” tall weighing 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a face mask, green military style jacket, with a black hooded sweatshirt underneath.
Occupied Stolen Vehicle
Gillispie St. and Stewart Ave.
An officer located a stolen vehicle which had previously fled from officers. Officers waited for the driver to park and exit the vehicle. Simon Taufa, 30, fled on foot but was quickly apprehended and arrested for felony theft. Akanesi Tongia, 25, and Jose Olmedo, 30, were booked into jail on outstanding warrants.
