6:45 a.m.
Agency Assist
2700 S. Highland Drive


Salt Lake City Fire personnel observed a male sitting unconscious in the driver’s seat of a vehicle stopped at a light. They approached the male to check his welfare. As the male exited the vehicle a gun fell to the ground. Fire personal were able to pin the male to the ground and called  for immediate assistance. Officers arrived and took the male into custody without incident. Landon Nez, 23, was booked into jail for possession of a firearm by a restricted person, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.


7:51 a.m.
Aggravated Assault
281 E. Edith Ave.


The victim called multiple family members telling them he had been stabbed. His phone disconnected and he would not answer on multiple callbacks. Officers were able to locate the victim and he was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.


2:53 p.m.
Traffic Accident
2700 S. 700 E.


A vehicle was driving east on 2700 S. when the driver suddenly swerved off the road and struck a tree. The driver was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.


3:56 p.m.
Occupied Stolen Vehicle
542 N. Pugsley St.


Officers responded to a call of a victim tracking their stolen vehicle. Officers located the vehicle at 1400 S West Temple St. where they initiated a felony stop. The driver, Keli Iyamuremye, 18, was booked into jail for felony theft. A passenger, Katima Tukka, 20, was booked into jail for possession of a stolen firearm.
