Compiled by Watch Commanders in the field, the Watch Log is a summary of events that stand out to them in a given 24-hour period. 1450 S. West Temple
Officers responded to reports of shots fired in the area. Several officers responded. Officers found shell casings in the parking lot. No property damage was observed. Several people were stopped and spoken to. No suspect information at this time.
300 N. 900 W.
Officers responded to the area for a report of shots fired and found shell casings on the street. A short time later, officers were informed of two gunshot victims who were at a local hospital. They reported to the nurse that they were shot in this area. Both victims did not want to talk to officers. No suspect information at this time.
800 S. West Temple
An officer was patrolling the area and noticed an occupied stolen vehicle. A felony stop was performed on the vehicle and the only occupant was taken into custody. Regina Ortiz, 29, was booked into jail for felony theft.
800 N. Irvin St.
Officers were in the area when they observed a stolen vehicle parked in the driveway. A juvenile male exited the house and entered the driver’s side of the vehicle. He was taken into custody and booked into Juvenile Detention for felony theft.
1000 N. 1000 W.
An officer was in the area, when he noticed a vehicle speeding east on 1000 N from 1000 W. The vehicle collided with a cement barrier near the on ramp to I-15. The two occupants fled the vehicle and hid in the bushes nearby. Officers who responded to the area, located the two occupants and took them into custody. Jerika Drowns, 23, and Ray Thomas, 24, were booked into jail for related charges.
