Distribution of Narcotics
400 N. Silent Glen Ln.
Officers observed a vehicle without a license plate pull into a parking lot where all the occupants immediately got out of the vehicle. When the officers attempted to contact the driver, he fled on foot and threw a bag over a fence. The male repeatedly reached into his waist band prompting the officer to tase him. The bag the suspect threw was found to contain narcotics. Efrain Castillo, 39, was booked into jail for distribution of a controlled substance, failure to stop at the command of law enforcement and obstruction of justice.

Officers responded on a possible hand grenade near this address. Officers located the device and the hazardous devices unit responded to render it safe.
135 S. 800 W.
Officers responded on a man allegedly lighting fires in the area. Officers attempted to stop a possible suspect, but he fled on foot. When the officer caught the male, he turned and punched the officer in the head. With the assistance of SLC Fire personnel the male was taken into custody. Frederick Hidalgo, 32, and booked into jail for failure to stop, assault on a police officer and resisting arrest.
Redwood Rd. North Temple St.
Multiple callers reported a male with an axe in the middle of the road. Officers located the suspect and observed him damaging street signs with the axe. Officers convinced the male to drop the axe and he was taken into custody without incident. Kipaoa Mua, 41, was booked into jail for criminal mischief and warrants.
900 S. 500 W.
Officers responded on a shooting and found a male victim who had been shot at least once. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he died from his injuries. A suspect has been identified but has not been taken into custody as of this time.
