Compiled by Watch Commanders in the field, the Watch Log is a summary of events that stand out to them in a given 24-hour period. 1300 South Main Street
Officers encountered an individual who was throwing rocks at passing vehicles. Officers took Paris Davis, 37, into custody. They learned that Davis had also stolen items from the nearby 7-11 and had physically assaulted the clerk while doing so. Davis was taken to jail for criminal mischief and robbery.
220 South Rio Grande
Officers responded on a report of a male bleeding from the head. The victim had been struck in the head by a metal bar, he was transported to a local hospital in extremely critical condition. The victim had attempted to intervene in a robbery of another man by two suspects. One of the two suspects had hit him in the head with the metal bar.
1209 S. Major Street
The victim reported that they were driving behind another vehicle North on Major Street. The vehicle in front of the victim stopped suddenly and then began driving again. The victim continued as well when the driver of the front vehicle pulled out a gun stuck it out the window and began yelling at the victim. The suspect then fled the scene.
1722 W. 400 N.
A male was running through the halls of the apartment complex, screaming, and banging on doors. Officers located the male on the third floor, he was not cooperative with officers and resisted when they attempted to take him into custody. A CED was deployed and officers were able to take the male into custody. The male was transported to a local hospital for evaluation, charges may be screened.
Fleeing, Criminal Mischief
435 E. 400 S.
Officers responded to a vandalism call where the suspect had broken two windows on a business. When officers arrived, the suspect fled from them on foot. The officers gave chase and caught the suspect. They then had to fight with the suspect to get him in cuffs. One officer injured his hand during the fight. Stephen Ares, 33, was taken to jail for public intox, criminal mischief, and fleeing.
