SLC911 received multiple calls of shots fired at Westpointe Park. Officers located shell casings in a parking lot at the park as well as the roadway. No damage or injuries were reported, all the involved parties fled prior to police arrival.

Officers responded on a suspicious vehicle in the area. They located the vehicle entering a parking lot with only one exit. As officers attempted to make a high-hazard traffic stop the driver tried to flee but the car got stuck on an embankment and was taken into custody. Shane Baldwin, 30, was booked into jail for theft by receiving stolen property, fleeing, possession of another’s identifying documents, possession of a controlled substance and possession of burglary tools.
