Fatal Traffic Accident

California Ave. & Redwood Rd.

Officers were dispatched on a possible occupied stolen vehicle near 1700 S. Redwood Road. Before officers could attempt a traffic stop on the vehicle the driver fled north on Redwood Rd. and officers did not pursue. The suspect vehicle left the roadway at California Ave. and rolled, ejecting the driver. The driver was taken to a local hospital where he died from his injuries. A female passenger was uninjured.

Foot Pursuit

Officers were dispatched to assist a victim in retrieving their stolen bicycle. The officers came across the suspect who immediately fled on foot. After a short foot pursuit Vanuivali Bloomfield, 24, was taken into custody and booked into jail for theft, fleeing, possession of burglary tools and outstanding warrants.
