Assault on A Police Officer
200 S. Rio Grande.
Officers were flagged down by witnesses to an assault. The officers contacted the victim and the suspect and observed injuries to the victim. As officers attempted to take the suspect into custody he fled on foot. Officers ran after the male who turned and punched one of the officers. Officers caught up to the male as he tried to jump a fence and deployed a Taser which allowed officers to take him into custody. Wade Slaughter, 57, was booked into jail for assault on a police officer, assault, fleeing, resisting arrest and possession of a controlled substance.
