SLCPD Investigating Aggravated Assault, Two People Shot

SALT LAKE CITY — The Salt Lake City Police Department is investigating an aggravated assault that appears to be the result of several people fighting.

This investigation started at 2:53 a.m. on Sunday June 12, 2022 when SLC911 received information about a shooting at 368 West 900 South. Officers arrived and found a large  party happening.

Officers shut down the area, established a crime scene and started looked for any victims. During their search, they located evidence of a shooting, including blood on the ground.

Officers conducted a comprehensive search but did not find any gunshot victims at the party or nearby.

As officers remained on scene to help clear out the area, and while investigating the shooting, they learned two people, a 29-year-old man and a 30-year-old man, arrived at a local hospital with gunshot injuries.

Officers learned the two men were at the party, were injured and left immediately after the shooting and went directly to the hospital.

Neither person has life-threatening injuries. One person was shot in the ankle, the other in the calf.

Additionally, officers located bullet holes in a car at the scene.

The Salt Lake City Police Department’s Crime Lab responded to the scene to process and collect evidence.
