Burglary and Larceny
Detectives investigate property crimes. The property crimes they investigate most often are thefts of property and burglaries (vehicle, residential & business).
Once a crime has occurred and a report has been written, the report is forwarded to the Burglary/Larceny Unit. All reports are reviewed by the Burglary/Larceny Sergeant and then assigned to a Detective.
The Sergeant reviews each report to determine if the case will be an active case (requiring follow-up by the detective) or inactive case (requiring no detective follow-up).
