Watch Command Log

The Watch Command Log is a daily summary of events of significance compiled by Watch Commanders. There are three watches in a 24-hour period: days, afternoons and graveyards. Items contained in the Watch Command Log are based on information available at the time of its release and should not be interpreted as an admission or finding of guilt. Arrest information may differ from formal charges, which are filed at the discretion of the prosecuting agency.

Officers in the area of West High School heard an explosion coming from the football field. As they drew approached the scene, they observed a group of persons, one of whom threw something onto the field that exploded. The five adults were taken into custody and booked for setting off incendiary devices. They are Justin Bates (12-26-90), Carli Winquest (4-11-91), Latawnya Madsen (5-2-89), Reiddyn Wihongi (3-6-90), and Joel Kneebone (12-6-90). Officers found additional devices and the makings for more. Bomb techs responded and disabled the devices. No one was injured.
GRAVEYARD SHIFT

Officers served a warrant at the above address. The search netted 2 lbs. of marijuana, scales, packaging and paraphernalia. Michael Garcia (09-11-84) was booked for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, child endangerment, and possession of paraphernalia. Since two youngsters were present, DCFS also responded.

A car crashed through the front door of a home at this address, the driver fleeing. No one was injured at the home. The driver lost control of the car near 1000 W. 600 N., possibly fleeing from another car. Occupants of another car possibly involved said that the driver of the crashed car had been shooting at them. Shell casings were found nearby the crashed car. Investigation ongoing.
