Video Clearly Shows Face of Man
Breaking into Vending Machines
Suspect sought in 5 cases in SLC
SALT LAKE CITY—Salt Lake City Police Department Detectives today released video of a suspect wanted in connection with at least five cases of vending machine break-ins.
The suspect is a male white adult, approximately 40 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall, bald, with a goatee, and a gap in his front teeth. Detectives believe he may be the same man involved in similar cases in Salt Lake County.
To date, SLCPD Detectives have video of the suspect breaking into soda vending machines at the following locations:
- Red Lion, 161 W. 600 S., July 3, 4, 13 and 14
- Metropolitan Inn, 524 S. West Temple, July 16
Owners of the Coca-Cola vending machine at Red Lion say they have suffered occasional losses as far back as January, which led them to install a video camera recently. The man appears to know exactly how to access the machine and obtain the cash quickly, indicating that he may have experience in the vending business.
The Police Department asks anyone who knows the identity or location of the suspect to call (801) 799-3000. Callers may remain anonymous. Please reference case #10-124711.
