Watch Command Log

The Watch Command Log is a daily summary of events of significance compiled by Watch Commanders. There are three watches in a 24-hour period: days, afternoons and graveyards. Items contained in the Watch Command Log are based on information available at the time of its release and should not be interpreted as an admission or finding of guilt. Arrest information may differ from formal charges, which are filed at the discretion of the prosecuting agency.

An elderly couple had just returned home, driving into their garage and exiting the vehicle. Someone came up behind the female victim and grabbed the purse out of her hand. The male suspect then fled eastbound, getting into a red Jeep or SUV type vehicle and driving away. Within minutes the suspect used a credit card from the stolen purse at a nearby gas station. No one was injured.

GRAVEYARD SHIFT

A 19-year old male driver and his 15-year old male passenger were heading Westbound on South Temple early in the morning, nearing West Temple. At midblock the driver initially drove into the curb/planter box, then lost control, smashing into a lamppost and trees, and finally coming to a stop at West Temple. Both occupants were transported to an area hospital, the driver in critical condition. Investigation is ongoing.
