Meth and Drug Initiative - "kNOw MORE" Public Awareness Campaign and Student Art Contest

The residual effects of substance abuse in our communities have long created challenges for our human and public health services, our criminal justice system and most importantly, our families. The countless hours spent by every agency involved in reducing sustance abuse and crime in the state of Utah has produced many resources available to individuals requesting recovery.

As a response to the need for substance abuse resources, the Salt Lake City Police Department has created a campaign appropriately titled "kNOw MORE" to publicize the resources available to citizens of our communities. The campaign emphasizes 2-1-1 which has been available since 1978 to provide referrals and information on health and human services throughout Utah. In addition to 2-1-1, the campaign also publicizes the "Tips for Cash" hotline available for citizens to work with law enforcement to solve crime in their neighborhoods.

Below are the advertisements that ran on UTA TRAX and buses during the first year of the campaign. Two of the advertisements are from the winners of the Salt Lake City Police Department Student Art Contest.
