May 10, 2012 — More than 90 student artworks revolving around an anti-drug message will vie for top honors and prizes as the annual Salt Lake City Police Department Student Art Contest comes to a head Friday, May 18, during a special gallery stroll event at the City & County Building, 451 S. State Street.

The event includes a final round of judging at 6 p.m., awards between 6:30–7 p.m., with art lovers welcome to join in the fun and meet the student artists ‘til 8 p.m. The gallery is on the lower level of the C&C Building.

Prizes to be awarded Friday include $2,500 scholarships, laptops, tablets and more.

Note: May 18 is Gallery Stroll and opening night of Living Traditions at the City & County Building,  so plan ahead for parking issues and unless you come in through the festival, we suggest entering the building on the west or State Street side. We also recommend taking light rail and getting off at the Library Stop.
