Chief Burbank Addresses Pending Lawsuit Related to In-Custody Death

Suspicious/Assault on P.O.
1134 E. Garfield Ave

Officers arrived on a suspicious persons call. They found three males smoking marijuana in a parking lot. One of the suspects jumped the fence and fled from officers. A second suspect, Justin Scott (7/28/94), initially fought with officers but was ultimately placed into custody. He did not appear to have any injuries. He was checked by medical and then booked for possession of a controlled substance, resisting, and assault on a police officer. The third suspect, David Armant (5/26/93), was compliant. He was booked for possession of a controlled substance. Both officers had minor scrapes.

2311 S. Lake Street

A witness observed two males breaking into vehicles on Lake Street and advised officers where he had last seen them running. K9 Officers searched the area and found the suspects in the middle of Fairmont Park. Joshua Lujan (4/23/94) admitted post Miranda to five separate vehicle burglaries. He was transported and booked into jail for 5 counts of vehicle burglary. The other male juvenile was released to his parents and charges will be screened.
