Occupied Rolling Stolen/Fleeing
400 S. 1000 W.
Officers observed an occupied stolen vehicle in the area of 500 S. 1200 W. The vehicle continued eastbound and traveled onto the southbound I-15 onramp at 400 South. Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop at 1700 South and I-15, at which point the driver fled at a high rate of speed; consequently, officers shut down their emergency equipment and did not pursue. Officers then located the vehicle, which had crashed into a highway barrier, at approximately 2700 South and I-15. A female passenger, no injuries, was in the car, but the male driver had fled on foot. SLCPD K-9 and South Salt Lake PD K-9 assisted in looking for the driver but were unable to locate him.
