SALT LAKE CITY— Chief Chris Burbank today announced “Five-O Fest,” a free community festival in conjunction with the Utah Anti-Bullying Coalition, Safe2Help and the Salt Lake City Police Foundation Saturday, May 31, at the Public Safety Building.

Featuring a concert by Beyond5, the Five-O Fest is intended to bring the community together to interact in a positive way with the department, while also standing together against bullying. Look for demonstrations from police specialty squads, including K9s, SWAT and Motors, as well as martial arts classes, a climbing wall, art workshops, food and fun.

According to the Bullying Statistics website, 77% of school children are victims of bullying. The Utah Legislature has approved a statewide tip line that allows students to anonymously report bullying either through a call center, a text, or online. Funding for the tip line starts in 2015.

Five-O Fest is free and open to the public. For more information, visit FiveOFest.org.
