Wanted Person: Antonio Rafael Shropshire

SALT LAKE CITY— The Salt Lake City Police Department seeks the public’s help in locating suspect, Antonio Rafael Shropshire, wanted for Aggravated Assault F2.

The suspect pictured above, picked up his girlfriend, (victim), from work.  He drove her to the Glendale shopping area and began assaulting her.  He punched her in the face multiple times and slammed her head into the windshield.  He then strangled her until she lost consciousness.  He drove her around the city, stopping only to repeatedly beat her and had threatened to kill her.  The suspect eventually stopped and the victim was able to run to a house and ask for help, the suspect fled the area.

A warrant for Antonio Shropshire has been issued; for F2 Aggravated Assault Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury bail amount has been set for $100,007.00

The vehicle Antonio was driving was stolen and has been recovered.  He has no known address at this time, and may be staying in various places around the valley.
Suspect description:

  • Black Male
  • 32 Years of age
  • AKA: Tony Vargas, Oz Eight, or Eight Ounce
  • 180 Lbs
  • 5’9”
  • Tattoo on his neck
  • Mustache and partial goatee
