Homicide

The Fire Department responded on a man down call. They found a deceased male victim with gunshot wounds. Homicide detectives responded. The victim was identified as 18-year-old Gustavo Jarquin of Salt Lake City. Investigation ongoing.

Traffic Accident
800 S. Jordan River Parkway|

A large SUV driven by a 16-year old was eastbound on Indiana Avenue at a high rate of speed. As it approached a traffic light at the Jordan River Parkway the driver lost control and the car went into the river and came to rest upside down. Bystanders who had seen what happened immediately went into the river in an effort to save the occupants. They were able to turn the vehicle over and assist the three teenagers inside, until the Fire Department arrived. All three teenagers were transported to the hospital in serious condition.

Aggravated assault

A man was approached by two men who began an argument with him.  One of the two then reportedly pulled a knife and stabbed him more than once. Tyrone Brown (7/10/89) was located nearby and booked on aggravated assault. The victim has not been located.
