North Temple and West Temple

Leka Tavalu-Fifita (1/19/96) and a 16 year old male went to the Temple Square while they were intoxicated.  While the two were inside the temple grounds they encountered a group of people,   and an altercation occurred near the reflecting pool.  After a short fight, the parties separated but a short time later the two groups encountered each other again near the north exit of Temple Square.   A second confrontation occurred between the two groups and a 20 year old was stabbed by Tavalu-Fifita.  The victim was transported to the hospital with a non life-threatening stab wound.  Tavalu-Fifita and the other juvenile male were taken into custody and interviewed.  Following the interviews Tavalu-Fifita was booked into jail for aggravated assault, unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor, and disorderly conduct.  The juvenile was cited for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor and disorderly conduct and released to his parents.
