SALT LAKE CITY — The Salt Lake City Police Department has arrested two males believed to be responsible for the murder of another male on December 19, 2014.

At approximately 4:30 p.m. on December 19, 2014 a gold-colored 4-door, Mazda, driven by suspect, Austin James Herring 10/05/1985 stopped in the area of 563 W. 200 S. The passenger, who has been identified as suspect, Richard Michael Warner 08/09/1983 and Herring exited the vehicle. Both suspects began a discussion to purchase drugs with the male victim who was standing on the sidewalk. Once the arrangement was made Herring got into the driver’s side of his vehicle and Warner remained outside the rear passenger’s door of the vehicle. Warner produced a handgun and shot the victim. Warner then got into the passengers front seat and Herring drove away.
Homicide detectives began working leads and located Herring in Bluffdale and Warner was located in West Valley City. Both suspects were taken into custody and booked into jail for criminal homicide.
