Stolen Vehicle, Assault on a Police Officer,  Fleeing

An officer observed a suspicious vehicle in the area of 1350 S Stewart Street. As the officer was approaching he was informed that the vehicle was reported as stolen. The driver had parked and opened the driver’s door as the officer was questioning him about the vehicle. The driver quickly started the vehicle and drove forward, pinning the officer in the open door. The driver struck the parked police vehicle and a tree before he fled north on Stewart Street. The officer sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital. Responding officers located the vehicle near the Glendale Shopping Center.  A male matching the description was found in the area.  Flapp Fletcher Dahlquist (27 yrs old)  was interviewed by detectives and booked into jail for Assault on a Police Officer, Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Fleeing and Warrants.
