427 W. Rio Grande St.
A woman and her daughter were walking east across Rio Grande St. to volunteer at St. Vincent’s to help the homeless. They were approached by a woman who grabbed the mom by her hair and tried to pull her purse out of her hands. As they struggled the suspect punched the victim in the face and her wallet fell out of her purse. Several persons nearby came to help the victim but someone else picked up the wallet and removed the cash before discarding the wallet. The suspect was described as female Hispanic adult, 5 feet tall, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with a “Cali” logo and an image of a bear on the front. The victim sustained minor injury.
