1:14 p.m.
Found grenade
483 S. Redwood Rd.

The clerk at 7-11 found a grenade in a milk crate by the store’s dumpster. Officers responded and verified it was a grenade. The hazardous device unit responded and found that the grenade was hollowed out and not live.  

3:58 p.m.
Fatal traffic accident
1730 S. 4400 W.

A 41-year-old female was driving east in a semi while a motorcyclist was traveling west on 1730 South. The semi driver made a left turn when, according to witnesses, the motorcycle attempted to stop and collided into the side of the tractor. Medical personnel responded and declared 44-year-old Roger Perue deceased at the scene.

6:04 p.m.
Narcotics distribution and possession of firearm arrest
205 S. Rio Grande St.

Officers stopped an individual at the shelter after observing behavior consistent with the distribution of narcotics. Hassan Alhabib, (20-years-old) was booked into jail for possession of heroin, possession of cocaine, and possession of a firearm.
