4:28 p.m.
Shots fired
175 S. West Temple St.

Two black vehicles were stopped and an argument between occupants ensued. One of the drivers began shooting at the other vehicle. Both vehicles then left east on 100 South. A shell casing was recovered on scene. Investigation is ongoing.

11:49 p.m.
Hit and run
1364 W. North Temple St.

A woman was driving a vehicle at a high rate of speed, lost control, and then struck a light pole and a tree. The car continued moving until it rolled to a stop on the TRAX line. The driver exited the vehicle and fled. Shortly after officers located and took her into custody. Police booked Yasmine Asaddullah, 31, for hit & run and warrants.

12:04 a.m.
160 E. 800 S.

A man forced entry into a building at the listed address and took items. Security arrived and chased the suspect. Responding officers arrived and took the suspect into custody. Jacob Merkley, 27, was booked for burglary and warrants.
