Call times listed are approximate and typically reflect the first call received by SLC911 (Dispatch) for a given case. Items contained herein are based on information available at the time of its release and should not be interpreted as an admission or finding of guilt. SWAT standoff
1005 West 400 South

A female victim claimed that she was kept against her will at the above address for the past two days. She managed to escape this morning and found her way over to Franklin Elementary where officers contacted her. She showed officers to the above address and the occupants refused to exit the residence. SWAT was called out and some occupants exited the house over the next little while. Occupants indicated that the suspect was still inside the residence. Gas was used to help encourage the suspect to come out. Finally Casey Nielsen 34, came out and was taken into custody. He was questioned at the Public Safety Building and then taken to jail and booked in for rape and outstanding warrants.
