10:26 a.m.
Bank robbery
1575 S. Main St.

Two men entered a bank. One male approached the teller, presented a note and demanded money. The teller complied and the two men left the bank. One suspect is described as a white male adult in his 30’s, with a slim build, a groomed moustache and a beard, wearing a button-up long sleeve white shirt, khaki pants, a dark baseball hat and dark prescription glasses. The second suspect is described as a white male adult in his late twenties to early thirties, slim build, a goatee, wearing button-up long sleeve light blue shirt, khaki pants and a dark gray/black baseball hat.

4:44 p.m.
Bank robbery
701 E. 400 S.

A man walked into a bank and demanded money from the teller. No weapon was seen. The man left on foot and was taken into custody by police a short time later. Detectives interviewed the male who admitted to two previous robberies. Officers booked Nicholas Duffy, 25, for three counts of robbery.

4:53 p.m.
Train vs. pedestrian
150 E. 400 S.

The Trax train was Eastbound on 400 South at approximately 150 East when a male ran directly into the path of the train. The train was not able to stop and collided with the pedestrian. The male was pronounced dead at the scene. The deceased has been identified as Timothy Paul Ciccone Jr., age 22.

9:25 p.m.
600 W. North Temple St.

A 27-year-old man was approached by two males who attempted to stab him with a knife. The man blocked the knife with a bag and the two men walked away. While the victim was on the phone with 911, the men returned and punched and kicked him in an attempt to take his property The men were unsuccessful and left the area. Responding officers located the men and took them into custody. A knife and a bag containing distributable amounts of drugs was located. Officers booked Elvin Zuniga, 23, and Lester Cruz Navarro, 20, for aggravated robbery and possession with intent to distribute.

4:07 a.m.
1450 S. State St.

Officers were waved down by citizens reporting a 58 year old man had been shot in the hip by a suspect in a passing car. The victim wasn’t able to give a detailed description. The vehicle is described as an older gold 4 door car driven by a female with a brown skinned male in the passenger seat. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
