6:00 p.m.
Vehicle burglary
354 S. 1300 E.

Detectives interviewed a male adult in regards to a vehicle burglary where two rifles were stolen.  The suspect admitted to stealing the firearms and detectives were able to recover both of them.  Officers booked Gavin Lawrence, 22, into jail for vehicle burglary and two counts of theft of a firearm.

900 W. Montague Ave.

Two men were walking down the Jordan River Parkway when two males approached them. One male pulled a knife and demanded money and one of the victims complied. The males then punched the first victim in the face and the second victim in the side of the head. The suspects then ran away. The first suspect is described as a white male adult, 6 feet 4 inches tall, 30-40 years of age, slim build, wearing a dark hoodie and beanie cap. The second suspect is described as a white male adult, 5 feet 11 inches tall, 30’s, with a beard, wearing a blue jacket and dark jeans.

10:17 p.m.
Homicide/Aggravated Robbery
1075 S. Redwood Rd.

Witnesses saw a male stumbling in the street in front of the car wash at this address. The male collapsed to the ground because he had been shot. No suspects were seen. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he later died. The victim has been identified as Christian A. Gutierrez-Marquez, 33. The deceased victim’s vehicle was later found engulfed in flames.  The vehicle was stolen from the victim after he was shot. The investigation is ongoing.
