SLCPD Unearths Remains from Homicide

SALT LAKE CITY — After receiving a tip, Salt Lake City Police homicide detectives unearthed the remains of a man, who was murdered in the summer time between 2010-2012.

 

The murder was in conjunction with a disagreement between the suspect and victim, which occurred near Indiana St. just west of a canal. The victim was a male, Hispanic in his mid-thirties, first name Ignacio, but went by Nacho.

 

The suspect, Carlos Trevizo-Acosta, 56, the owner of Los Lobos Paving and Construction, is in custody.

 

Cadaver dogs from Price, Utah, were used to help find the body in a search that took most of the day Saturday.

 

Salt Lake City Police are asking that anyone with information regarding positive identification of the victim or about the murder, to call detectives at (801) 799-3753.
