Salt Lake City Seeking Suspect in Assault on Officer Incident

Salt Lake City- On July 28, 2017, a K-9 Officer was the closest unit available to a call about two men who were causing a disturbance at the City and County Building. Upon arrival, the Officer encountered the men across the street and approached them alone. The suspect, Jackie Sanchez, 61, repeatedly threatened to assault our officer, as shown on surveillance video and corroborated by multiple eye witnesses. The officer warned Sanchez about his aggression but ultimately had to deploy his K-9 in order to prevent further assault and take the suspect into custody.

The case has been screened and Sanchez is wanted for his active warrants: assault against a police officer, interference with arresting officer, and disorderly conduct.
