Officers responded on a domestic assault with a weapon. The man barricaded himself, negotiators and SWAT were deployed and spent over an hour working with the subject, which resulted in shots being fired. The subject was transported to an area hospital and was declared deceased. The subject has been identified as Delorean Pikyavik, age 32. The West Valley City Police Department is the protocol agency handling this investigation.
