Auto-pedestrian traffic accident

The victim was walking north across 600 South when he was struck by an eastbound vehicle. The victim did not appear to be a in a crosswalk. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and indicated that he could not see the victim until it was too late. The victim was taken to a local hospital in extremely serious condition. The latest update is that the victim is still in extremely serious condition.
