6:55 p.m.
Retail theft
800 W. North Temple St.

Officers responded on a shoplifter who was fighting with security. The suspect was taken into custody. Officers booked Paul Horstman, 53, into jail for retail theft and possession of drug paraphernalia.

6:56 p.m.
Foot pursuit
410 E. 600 S.

Officers observed a fugitive from justice. Upon seeing officers, the subject fled, however was quickly apprehended. The suspect had methamphetamine on his person. Officers booked Sammy Blackbear, 33, into jail for fleeing on foot, possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, child endangerment, possession of drug paraphernalia and on a fugitive from justice warrant.

Suspicious package
299 S. Main St.

A security guard at the Wells Fargo building observed a man throw a large bag into a nearby alcove after which the male ran from the scene. Given the suspicious circumstances the bomb squad was called out. The bag was disrupted and the item was determined to be a sleep apnea machine. The suspect is described as a male adult with a medium complexion, 5 feet 3 inches tall, 30-40 years of age with a white sweatshirt and gray pants.
