Free Halloween FunFest at the PSB, October 26

SALT LAKE CITY — Everyone is invited to wear their favorite Halloween costume and come on down to the Public Safety Building, 475 S. 300 E. for candy, books, music and kid activities! Visit with your local public safety agencies, including Firefighters, Police Officers, Emergency Management Personnel and Dispatch.

Free and open to the public from 1-4:00 p.m., there will be lots of trick-or-treating and activities for kids. There will be plenty of booths for families to visit.

The police department will close 300 East between 400 and 500 South to accommodate the free party, which will include candy and games from the following partners:

  • Salt Lake City Police Department: K9s, Motors, Bomb Squad, SWAT, Volunteer Corps, Patrol, Community Connection Center, Crime Lab, Chief Brown
  • Salt Lake City Fire Department: ladder trucks with pumpkin toss, firefighters, obstacle course
  • Emergency Management

  • Salt Lake Police Association
  • City Library, games and activities
  • Nightmare on 13th
  • Sam’s Club
  • Costco

Be sure to look for creepy crawlies with The Bug Lady, Christy Bills of the Natural History Museum of Utah along with feathery friends of Earthwings. Also, keep an eye out for the Jazz Dancers performing throughout the event.

Tips for a Safe Halloween: Carry a flashlight and travel in a group. Adults should accompany young children at all times. Never enter a stranger’s car or home.
