The resident returned home and parked their van in the driveway of their house. As they exited the vehicle, they observed a Toyota Prius parked in front of their van. The driver of the Prius exited and told the resident to move the van. The resident went to a neighbor to get help, and when they returned found the Prius was ramming their van to get out of the driveway. The neighbor confronted the driver who then attempted to hit him with the Prius. The neighbor broke a window of the Prius with a board in order to stop the driver. He detained the driver until officers arrived. The Prius was found to be a stolen vehicle. Gregory Ward, 29, was booked into jail for theft, aggravated assault and criminal mischief.
