Fugitive Arrest

Detectives learned a fugitive was at the above address. Officers were able to surround the residence and convinced the suspect to exit. A handgun was seized from the scene. Raul Contreras, 24, was booked into jail on a felony warrant.

6:40 p.m.
Damage to Police Vehicle/Resisting Arrest

Officers in the area on an unrelated call heard a possible fight in a nearby parking garage. Officers located a male and a female in the parking garage. As they attempted to detain the male, he began to kick the police vehicle and resist being taken into custody. Christopher Page, 38, was booked into jail for resisting arrest and criminal mischief.

Shots Fired
325 N. 700 W.

Officers in the above area heard shots being fired. A vehicle was located leaving the area and a traffic stop was conducted. Officers obtained a search warrant for the vehicle, 2 guns were seized, one of which was stolen. Anthony Bettcher, 25, was booked into jail for discharge of a firearm from a vehicle, possession of a stolen firearm and possession of a firearm by a restricted person. No injuries were reported.

Shots Fired/Pursuit
900 W. North Temple St.

Officers responded to a report of shots fired near the above address. The victim was able to provide a description of the suspect vehicle. A short time later an officer located the vehicle and attempted to stop it at which time the driver fled. A pursuit was initiated which eventually ended in West Bountiful when the vehicle crashed into a canal. The driver attempted to hide but was located by a K-9. Luis Gomez-Lopez, 26, was booked into jail for distribution of a controlled substance and felony fleeing. Investigation ongoing.
