Shoplifting, Taser Deployment

Lamar Bowman was observed shoplifting by Kohl’s employees. He had a 12-inch knife on his waist, so the employees did not want to stop him. Officers spotted Bowman fleeing the scene on a bicycle and continued to follow Bowman, telling Bowman to stop. Bowman crashed on his bike but got back up and fled to the 7-Eleven store on 710 E.3300 S. Other officers arrived the 7-Eleven as Bowman tried to enter. Bowman had the knife in his hand by this time. One officer tased Bowman but it had little effect. Bowman walked to the back of the store toward the bathroom where another Officer deployed his ASP, hitting Bowman. Officers struggled with Bowman but were able to take him into custody. Bowman was charged with shoplifting, fleeing, resisting, aggravated assault on police officer, possession of a weapon by restricted person and a no bail warrant.

Two males and a female were uninvited guests at a party. They were asked to leave, once outside the suspects got into a silver vehicle and the rear passenger of that vehicle discharged a gun twice into the air. No damage was reported.

Officers were in the area when they heard shots fired. They responded to the area they believed the shots were fired. Two shell casings were found. There was no report of injuries or damage.
