A grandmother took her granddaughter to a friend’s cabin in Summit County on June 20th and was to return on June 22nd. When they had not returned on June 25th the child’s mother contact police. The investigation is ongoing, the granddaughter has been listed on NCIC. UPDATE: All parties were located in Summit County.

Occupied Stolen Vehicle

Officers observed a stolen vehicle leave a business at this address. They set up surveillance and saw the vehicle return a short time later. Officers took the driver into custody without incident. Vilaketi Bloomfield, 24, was booked for possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and other narcotics related charges.

Officers located a stolen vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. Darren Zahney, 31, was booked for possession of a stolen vehicle and warrants.

Shots Fired
422 E 1st Ave

Witnesses called to report a passenger in a silver Pontiac sedan fired shots in the air while the vehicle was driving west on 1st Avenue. Officers responded and located shell casings in the roadway. The suspect was not located. No reports of property damage or injuries

DUI Traffic Accident
880 N. Westpoint Cir.

A driver travelling north on Redwood Road collided with the vehicle in front of him and lost control. The vehicle went through a fence and collided with a residence. Minor injuries were reported to the initial driver but no one else was hurt. The initial driver was processed for a DUI.
Protest Summary
The daily planned protest began at the DA’s office at 18:00 hrs. The Protestors began to march shortly after gathering and the group size grew to over 100; this as others joined along the way. The Protestors marched to 300 S Main, 200 S State, 100 S. 200 E, and 700 E, 400 S. where they blocked each of the intersections over the course of two hours. At 700 E. 400 S. the Protestors engulfed an occupied vehicle in the roadway and began to beat on the car; relaying to the occupants that it was “their streets” – motorist extricated on their own. Protestors marched to 500 S, blocked intersection at 300 E and back to the DA’s Office
