Aggravated Robbery
434 E. South Temple St.

A victim was approached by a male at this address and was asked by the male to use her cell phone. She told the male that she didn’t have service. The male then brandished a knife as the victim backed away. Officers in the area were able to take the male into custody. Jacob Jones, 29, was booked into jail for aggravated robbery.

Fatal Traffic Accident
Indiana Ave./Delong St.

A vehicle was westbound on Indiana Ave. approaching Delong St. when it lost control and landed upside down in the water of the Jordan Surplus Canal. The driver and two of the four occupants were able to get out safely. The other two, a two-year-old and a 15-year-old, were rescued from the water by police and fire personnel. Both were transported to local hospitals in critical condition.

*Update 8/10/2020 the 15-year-old juvenile in this case has passed away.
